A Trip To Jusco

I went to Jusco yesterday noon for some grocery shopping.
(Jusco is a supermarket – kinda like Walmart in US)

My hand got itchy so I took some photos for my readers to see (see, I am nice? :P).
Once again, so sorry.. took photos with my mobilephone. The photo quality might not be good.
Well I can’t be lugging my digital camera around while grocery shopping, can’t I?

The first stop was at “The Chicken Rice Shop”.
I was hungry…

Nasi ayam (chicken rice)

I had iced cendol again. *teehee*
It wasn’t that good tho.

After lunch, I had a little walk before proceeding to the “market” place.
There’s a few stalls along the way, selling stuff like silver earrings, bracelets, bags etc.

When I entered the “market”, I thought I was in China! There were huge displays of tang loong (lantern), “chinese flowers” -I don’t know the exact name :P and lots of red decorations!
Yea, Chinese New Year is coming soon so every major shopping complexes are decorating their place with red!

See.. “chinese flowers”.

I felt like I’m in that Korean drama, Winter Sonata. *teehee*

My fav place, the vegetable section. LoL

The singles’ section – instant noodles!

And my MOST favourite part of Jusco:

Sushiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssssss!!!
(very cheap too. they have 20% discounts today. Haha!)

I end up buying a few sushis today. Yay!
Well, hope you like the photos. I’m going to bed already.

Those soft-pink flowers, are they considered winterflowers?

Oh, I think I’ll die here and now… GIMME!!!

What mobile do you have? These pics are great, if you compare with mine. :(

The chicken rice looks so yummy! It looks like Teryaki-chicken. Don’t say it is, because I love it and it’s nowhere to be found here… We had it in the store this summer, and then they disapeared.

And those chinese flowers! I’d give ANYTHING to get those!

    Me jealous?
Well, you can say that. :P

We haven’t got that variety around here, you can find few sushi in the supermarkets, at least it is an specialized Chinese/Japanese store. :)

I liked the pics you posted in your recent post too. I’m glad you liked the ones I posted in my newest post.

Hey, those Chinese flowers you show seemed so beautiful to me. Are some of those ones like cherry flowers? I really love cherry flowers and the curious and funny thing is that in Mexico there are not cherry flowers at all. They just don’t exist in Mexico.

I remember last year a friend of mine who is Vietnamese but married to a Chinese guy brought some “moon cake”. I had never tried that one before and it was so delicious. And then she mentioned something about the Chinese New Year. There is when I first heard of this big event for Chinese.

Hey, those soup, chicken and rice look so yummy and the dessert looks so good. Is that dessert like “deep fried ice cream” (that is the name something similar has over here). But in Mexico it’s called “tempura helado” (frozen tempura). But the word “tempura” is not a hispanic word. I wonder what “tempura” means. Does it have any meaning in Chinese or Japanese?

Okies, for now I say bye, as I just woke up to drink some water and to surf the internet for a little while and it’s 4:34 after midnight. I’m going to bed now.

    Have a great Sunday.

The quality of your pics looks good, so don’t worry about it.

Thanks for sharing those pictures. Bye, bye.

    Hugs,

    Gabriela. :angel::baby::dance::party:

    Hello again Cindy.

Here I copy the response I made for you in my previous to my last post’s comments section, to your comment about Mexico City, just in case you could not read it.

“Yes, answering to your comment, Mexico city’s population is 25 million of unhabitants. Huge popullation indeed.

Yes, Brian grows his hair so fast and also does not comb it, so sometimes it’s just short and looks fine but when it grows longer it kind of sticks out. He is cutting her hair off soon.

The lady on the street is selling dolls that she was making herself. Those are traditional mexican cloth dolls and are considered “arts and crafts”. They are not expensive at all. Probably like 50 mexican pesos which is 5 dollars. It’s admirable how these ladies make them, as these dolls are a very typical Mexican tradition and even though they make them by hand sell them in an accesible price.

I’m glad you liked the pics I posted, Cindy. I wanted to get done sharing about the most typical Mexican side of that huge city and get started with a different theme.

Take care and thanks for visiting my blog and for your nice comments. I appreciate that. Blessings and I send you a big hug. :)”

Related to those typical mexican dolls that the lady on the street was selling, I did not buy any that time.

But brought one similar doll from my parents place to Washington.

I will be taking a pic to it and post it so you can see how these dolls these indigen ladies made. They are considered “arts and crafts” like I said.

Okies, I’m going to bed now. Bye and take care.

    Hugs,

    Gabriela. :)
