The Chinese Wannabe

I’m not Chinese, but I love getting myself involved with Chinese celebrations ESPECIALLY Chinese New Year! (Eh, my boyfriend is Chinese ok? So I have an excuse to celebrate it too) *hehe*

The reason why I’m happy every Chinese New Year is – I get ang pows! (money inside red packet) That’s why I’m not married to this day, because you stop getting angpows once you’re married and GIVE AWAY ang pow instead! (Mummy, I’m kidding about the getting married part. It’s not because of ang pows. :P)

So today I bought a tanglung (lantern) for myself.
Nice, huh? I tried hanging it on my hair ~ and it actually looked nice. I feel like I’m a Princess of China. LOL!
Oh you wish I took a photo of that, huh?
Well too bad.
I’m camera shy, so the only thing you’ll see is my finger holding that tanglung. *teehee*

    hey nice!

    I’ve got a Chinese family name but I think Chinese New Year is the only time I whip out my ‘Cina’ side (completely watered down by my mixed parentage)

    And ang pows: You gotta love ‘em :D

    I love that Chinese ornament. When are Chinese celebrating that New Year’s Eve exactly?

    Hey, read about you planning a trip to Bulgaria. Sounds very interesting. Probably you could also ask for tips to Gabriela (a blogging friend of Miriam, Erin and I who is from there). Currently she is living in Holland, but she goes often to Bulgaria to visit her family and friends.

    She has my same name, as you can see.

    Okies, thanks for passing by my blog and talk to you later.

    Take care girl.

    Hugs,

    Gabriela. :):angel::dance::party::D
