The Sixth Sense

We are all aware of our five basic sense – seeing, feeling, hearing, smelling & tasting. But are we aware of our sixth sense that sense of otherworldliness, a connection to something more and greater than our physical senses are able to perceive?

Now the question is, do you believe in sixth sense?

In 1999, M. Night Shyamalan directed a movie that tells the story of a troubled, isolated boy living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a child psychologist who tries to help him. And I am sure you’re familiar with the words, “I see dead people..”. :B That’s what Haley Joel said to Bruce Willis in that movie when he sees dead people around him. Heh.

Now this reminds me of myself. Before you jump out of your seat worried that I might post another scary pictures from The Exorcist (like I did in this post) – don’t worry! I won’t be posting scary photos this time. I promise!

OK where was I? Oh, this reminds me of myself. Well, I’m not trying to say that I have the ability to see ghost (although at certain times, I do have the ability to hear one..) but there are times that I swear I could feel the presence of this out of World phenomena, like you are dead sure you know something is there but you just couldn’t see or explain it is there.

Like the time I attended a funeral with my mom a few years back.. there was this lady whom everyone known as the wicked lady. (By wicked, I mean very wicked – but due to respect, I’m not going to list out the wicked things she has done while she was alive.) On that funeral day, everyone was standing around her, offering prayers for her soul. Now, if you’ve ever been to a funeral where the coffin cover is opened for her family and friends to view her body for the last time, then you’d know how close you could be to take a look at the body.. So my mother and I was standing opposite to her coffin when we noticed her forehead (the dead woman) began to sweat. Yes, the dead body is starting to sweat on the forehead. I gawked in disbelief and I turned to my mother. She looked at me with eyes that read “Do you see what I see?”. I started to feel uncomfortable with what I saw, but apparently it seemed that the only person who noticed about the sweat was me and my mom. Heh. Kinda scary. However, that’s the only weird thing I saw that day, although I wish there would be some cold air around, blowing our hair with a scary sound. Oh, and the dogs didn’t howl at all too. Dang.

Sometimes, the sixth sense in you came unexpectedly or.. when you least expect it to happen. Like the day I receive a phone call in my office from one of my close friend, ‘T’. I answered the call in a huff because I was busy with paperworks on that busy morning, and ‘T’ sounded distress. “What’s wrong?”, I asked. “Cindy, did you know what happened to ‘A’..?” I laughed and I said, “What, he died?” And then there was silence on the other side… until she managed to said “Yeah, he died..”. Honestly, I have no idea what made me said that. But those words just came out of my tongue! Of course I felt guilty for saying that, it was so cruel of me, but I couldn’t help it. To this day, I still couldn’t understand why I said that.. Immediate sixth sense maybe?

And then there last December when I went shopping for Christmas at the mall in KL. From the moment I entered the building, something in my heart told me that Pauline would be there shopping too. And for the few minutes of walking, I couldn’t help but look around for her – and guess what? While buying lollipops at the corner, I saw her!! Now tell me I don’t have sixth sense. Hehehe..

In fact, there were many occasions when I actually get to feel the presence of something spiritual but I’d rather not talk about it right now. Not only it might scare you away, it might scare myself just to think about it and worse, I wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight! So, let’s call it a day for now. Maybe I’ll write about my ghostly experience someday..

But at the meantime, hey, did you know that there was this beliefs that says, if you want to have the ability to see a ghost, all you need to do is rub a dog’s tears on your eyes – and you’re off to start a new journey of seeing the dead. Whether or not it works, I have no idea, but I do not plan to try it anytime soon! Maybe you should try it and let me know how it goes. :B

I do not envy you Cin.

And I have heard of that rubbing dogs’ tears on your eyes to see stuff. But I’m thinking, why look for trouble?

Hmmmm…. I have a dog, and taking a tear from her isn’t that difficult, but no thanks. I enjoy my normal eyesight very much, thank you (even though I need the aid of my glasses/contact lens to see),

Well, it could be that you have a sixth sense. It could also be a coincidence. Or a part of your imagination. Whatever it may be, only you would know it. You know, thinking of it, it’s actually kind of interesting to have 6th sense, but don’t we women always have it?

We don’t need dog’s tears to see ghosts, as you can see them everywhere when you go to KL.
