On an extraordinary day, mine would look like this:

Yep, this is my cart. And that’s a REAL plant.
It’s Sunday and it looks like a lovely day to go grocery shopping. And I did.
Oh I’m feeling much better already, thank you all for leaving the kind messages on my blog. It makes me smile knowing that I have a “virtual” friend out there whom I’ve only met online. Who knew that we could meet people through blogging and make friends with them. Like the saying goes, A friend in need, is a friend indeed. (Eek! I’m not trying to get emo here. Just wanna thank all of you actually. :P)
********
Now back to my shopping cart.
I love supermarkets. That’s where I get to see all kinds of people from all walks of life. Those with families, they tend to have their carts loaded with stuffs. Rolls of toilet papers, (Eh, this word reminds me of PapaJoneh and his Toilet Paper post. Hahaha!) baby foods, vegetables, washing soap etc etc.. And then there’s the single people’s cart. Hehe. This one is interesting. Inside their cart, you’d normally find eggs.. and Maggi (instant noodle). Lots and lots of Maggi! LOL!
I think my cart is categorized in the “Singles Cart” too. It’s just that I happened to be in the mood of cooking today, hence why it’s half full. In fact, I did an extra effort too.
I bought an onion.
I never, NEVER liked peeling a red onion because they make me cry and I hate it when my fingers smelled like onion. But you know what, I bought AN ONION today. Yeah, like A PIECE. Sebiji bawang. And when I went to the counter to get it weighed, a lady who was standing beside me (waiting for her turn to weigh her stuff) obviously couldn’t help it and she GIGGLED! OK, maybe it’s rare finding someone who bought just an onion.. so I’m not mad at her for laughing at me. In fact, I giggled with her too. Especially when the price of that onion came out as 20 cents only. LOL!
Oh I also bought some vegetables today. Hey, I’m living a healthy lifestyle ok? Oh I noticed too that a lot of the housewives preferred buying those organic vegetables. Well I’m no fan of organic vegetables, I’ve tried them once and I didn’t like it. I wonder if they tastes better now..? By the way, did you know that they came up with organic dog food these days too? I read it on the Internet and I think it’s awesome! The little ones are finally getting something healthier for themselves. Yay!
Well I better stop typing now. My stomach is making so much noise already. Now off I go to fix me some lovely dinner.
Would you like to join me?

For the life of me I can never understand why people say they always cry when they peel onions. I have peeled onions all my life and I never cried. Not even a tear. Can it be they hold the onion 1 inch from their eyes when they peeled it? :-)

I dislike peeling red onions too especially the small ones, the large ones are more-friendly to the eyes. Monday is my grocery-shopping day. So my cart would normally be full

Wombat: You must have super eyes! You sure there wasn’t any goggles involved?
Nessa: Wow, you have a specific day to do your grocery shopping? That’s great!

Is that your cart??? With a plant??? LOL!
I always try to cook with fresh vegetables…sometimes I take freezed stuff.
No need to cry when you peel an union.
First get the outer layer off,
Then put it under streaming water.
Slice in two.
Put one half on the slices side, so it won’t evaporate the smells.
Then slice first one half under water, then the other half.
Pour the water off…ready.
Rinse your hands with lemon or vinigar, if you haven’t used household gloves.
Otherwise start doing things you needed to do anyway, like cleaning the floor, do the laundry. By the time it’s time to eat your hands won’t smell anymore.
Hugs
