There’s this particular chap fan (economy rice) restaurant that I used to go with my friends, like at least 2 to 3 times a week. It’s a decent looking restaurant, with a cable TV on one corner, a few cute looking Burmese workers (OK, they weren’t the reason why we frequent the restaurant), cheap foods and very open-air concept kind of restaurant. By “open-air”, I meant it has very large windows on every corner. In fact, on afternoons, the restaurant could get very warm inside because the owner couldn’t be bothered to fix a curtain or at least some faux wood blinds on the window!
So why do we love eating there? Because the foods there are quite cheap and economy too. Mind you, they have a lot of customers everyday!
The owner of the restaurant is a nice looking lady. Probably in the age of 60s. She has a son by the name of Ah Keong. A skinny guy with very fair skin who looked like he’s in the late 20s. Very typical Chinese looking. Oh, he has this very pouty lips too. Ah Keong normally sits at the cashier counter, either counting money or receiving money from customers. Sometimes, he’d sit at one corner to watch TV. Pardon my French, but, this Ah Keong is NOT handsome at all. His everyday outfit would be a plain, faded T-shirt matched with a faded short pants.
“Do you think they’re earning a lot from this business?”
“Hmm.. I’d say around RM1,000 per day. Average.”
“I think Ah Keong must be rich.
“He must be driving a BMW!”
And then we’d laugh at the thought of Ah Keong dressed up neatly, driving a black BMW.
********
Last week, we went for our regular chap fan as usual. There wasn’t a sight of Ah Keong anywhere.
“He’s probably went off to college, doing law..”
“He must be driving the BMW to his college. With a chick too.”
“HAHAHAHA!”
********
Today, we went to the restaurant again. There, seated at the cashier counter.. was Ah Keong.
“Eh, no class today?”
“I don’t think he went to college lah..”
“Maybe he was sick last week.”
“I kinda miss him when he’s not around..”
“HAHAHAHAH”
********
Poor Ah Keong.

heeeey, I wanna gossip with you there!!!
I bet the large windows make things easier because in case u cannot gossip on the poor Ah Keong, you can always do on anybody’s else passing by the window.
We’ve got the Starbucks Coffee here that look like the same and the only reason I go there is to sit on the sofa and look through their huge windows. Otherwise I don’t go because it is extremely expensive and quality isn’t their strength.

Me, Myself and I : It would be great if we all could gather and gossip! LOL
I’d love to hangout at Starbucks all the time too, but not only it’s kinda pricey, we’d also end up drooling at cute boys instead of gossiping. Hahaha!
