Don’t you just hate it when you stumbled upon a blog that irritates the hell out of you?
Here’s a list of things I found to be “rude” in a blog:
1. Excessive usage of caps
DO YOU KNOW THAT USING CAPS ARE CONSIDERED AS SHOUTING? TRY TALKING LIKE THIS IN A CHATROOM. THERE’S A HIGH CHANCE THAT YOU’LL NOT ONLY BE KICKED OUT, YOU MIGHT ALSO GET BANNED FROM ENTERING THE CHATROOM.. LIKE FOREVER.
Reading blog is supposed to be fun, not challenging our visions.
2. So-called cute letters
wHenEVer i sEe pEopLe tYPinG LiKe ThIs iN THeiR bLoG, i CoULdn’T bE bOtHeReD tO ReAd. oMg, tHiS iS sO “aH LiaN”… dO yOu tHiNk tHiS iS FuNny?!!
3. Autoplay Music
I was enjoying the beautiful opera music from my computer when suddenly there’s a loud “I can’t get no! I can’t get no! Satisfaction..!” blasting out off my speakers! You’re lucky I don’t have heart failure, else my parents would come looking for you. I know it’s YOUR BLOG and you like that song, but could you at least give us an option to turn it on/off on your blog?
Not everyone surf the Net without the music on, you know..
4. Pop-up Advert/Notification
How many times have you come across blogs that pops messages like Welcome to my blog!, Hello, what’s your name? or some random advertisements. Totally annoying, I tell you.
5. Auto-Resizing Browser
OK, so you want me to view your blog the way you want it to be? But why resize my view?! I like the way my screen shows – if I do not like the viewing size of my monitor, I would’ve bought a bigger/smaller one.
6. Mega-sized Header Image/Blog Size
The economy isn’t really that good in some countries, so stop assuming that we’re all running at 1200×1600 (or bigger) screens. It’s hard enough to view your extra large blog, let alone dragging our poor mouse to scroll left and right.
Have some mercy on us poor people.

That said, if any of the above list reminds you of your own blog, I hope you might put into consideration on what I have just listed. Otherwise, just enjoy the rest of your day blogging and blog hopping. If you have any blog peeves that you’d like to share, care to leave me some comment? I’d really like to know your opinion.

ehem~ i’m actually annoyed with the ads. Especially if u have the same color with ur blog…@_@ i’m so confused which is which at that point, i get lazy to read XD

That is sooooooooooooooooo true Cindy, I’m with you 100% in this one. In fact I can think of a few more … I especially dislike the ones that force their music (upir number 3)upon you, if I wanted to listen to music I’d have switched on my music player, right? And the music taste of some of these people, god help me !!!
Btw, sorry to all you people who have auto music players on their page, but this is just my honest opinion.

They should put all of the above in the first chapter of every HTML 101 lesson.
Should also be included in the first page of the Microsoft Frontpage user guide

I agree with you Cindy – I guess sometimes some people just got over excited with wanting to have a trademark style of blogging – I don’t like no. 1 and no. 2, if I come across those, I’d switch it off faster than you can Peterpan, LOL

if you want to put music, at least let the visitor to turn it ON him/herself and not by default.

Aiya! no. 6- let me know if mine is showing out of proportion because I can’t see how people see it on their screen? Thanks for pointing that out, never thought of that.
I agree with you on the no. 1, 2 & 3.
Cindy: My screen is a wide-screen, Ann.. so the view of your blog isn’t a problem. I tried on other screen tho. (normal ones) Looks OK to me.

No. 2 (the so-called cute letters)
This one is mostly favored by teens. They list down all the hate list, love list, boyfriends… so, I also don’t bother to read, bad for the eyes too!
No. 3 (Auto play music)
I agree with you. should put option, NO auto-play. I’ll definitely clicked on it if I see songs I like to hear.

I know what you mean! Argh! I can’t stand any of those points you just listed! That’s why I am so freaking scared when I change the layout (Okay, “change” is too strong a word, let use “tweak”). I need to keep asking everybody if it’s just the right size. Being “buta IT”, it’s a constant worry. *sigh*
