Not only did the major roads around Malaysia suffered terrible traffic jams, my cellphone did too. Almost everyone I know text me about the increase price of fuel starting today.
My, my.. in a country filled with abundance of blessings like petroleum, oil palms, rice etc, one would’ve thought that the people of Malaysia are enjoying all these blessings and are living in a wealthy lifestyle.
Well, we wish.
Malaysians are paying very high price for gas. Malaysians are paying high price for rice. Malaysians are relatively.. poor. While the high ranking people in the govt might not experience the pain (since most of their expenses were paid off by the govt themselves), we, the mere mortals are tightening up our belts in order to survive.
That said, here’s what I had for lunch today.

Not only it’s slightly cheaper than nasi ayam (which I bet would cost a lot soonish), it’s also good for my weight. *hee* Maybe I’d sweet talk my family into ditching the rice for fruits for the time being.
Start growing your own veggies in your garden, folks! We are going on a rough road it seems..

ya.. everything will be up pretty soon, the rice is already getting expensive, then the school bus fees, then .. basically everything. Really don’t understand why we produce it ourselves and yet we need to pay so high for it.
BTW, you have got so many awesome design header and banner.. wow!

Huh, I just bought packet of seeds so I can grow veggies at home!
Starting monday next week cannot eat rice for dinner and lunch already. Already planned to bring some salad and buns and tomatoes to office. This reminds me of my stay with vegetarian back then in Australia.
Adoi.. hijau la lagi muka aku ni.

You should see the size of my yard. Even the birds complain it’s too small, how to grow my own veggies la?
At least the good thing is, I’ve stopped eating rice these days and that’s a big help … but yes, we are in for some hard times ahead … I wish I was a kid again, no worries and all that …
