To make stories short, her name has been shortened to Cindy but everyone at home called her with another name (that I won’t mention here). Due to privacy reason lah bah.

One Saturday morning, while she was in her bedroom, jumping on the bed with her friends, Lu Ting and Ah Wei, she noticed a figure standing in front of her. She couldn’t tell whether it’s a boy or a girl, but what’s obvious was that the figure, dressed in white with golden linings was smiling at her. And when she noticed that big, beautiful pair of white wings… she jumped out of the bed and ran towards her nina (grandmother). Upon telling what she saw to both her nina and mother, her mother ran into the room and touched the bed where Cinderella saw the figure. It was cold and smelled of sweet scents.

She never saw the figure again.

People said that if you’ve seen an angel, your life will be blessed abundantly. I’d like to believe that. I believe that God has blessed (and is still blessing) me and my family with abundance of grace, peace, love and happiness. Tho there are times when I feel like I am the most unlucky person in the world, He will send someone or something to prove that I’m wrong.

It’s my birthday today. My family is not around to celebrate it with me like when I was a child, but I can still feel the love like the first birthday I could remember celebrating. There might not be surprises waiting at the door (like a white cedar chest maybe), but their love is ALWAYS around me, birthday or no birthday.

So for this Christmas, I think I’d make some Eggnog for my family. Forget gifts like indoor tanning lotions, Eggnog is the best!

Traditional Eggnog Recipe

12 eggs, separated
6 cups milk
2 cups heavy/ thickened cream
2 cups bourbon
1+ 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup brandy
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg

Directions

1. In a large bowl and using a mixer, beat the egg yolks together with the sugar for approx 10 minutes (you want the mixture to be firm and the colour of butter).

2. Very slowly, add in the bourbon and brandy – just a little at a time.

3. When bourbon and brandy have been added, allow the mixture to cool in the fridge (for up to 6 hours, depending on how long before your party you’re making the eggnog).

4. 30 minutes before your guests arrive, stir the milk into the chilled yolk mixture.

5. Stir in 1+ 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg.

6. In a separate bowl, beat the cream with a mixer on high speed until the cream forms stiff peaks.

7. In yet another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

8. Gently fold the egg white mixture into the egg yolk mixture.

9. Gently fold the cream into the egg mixture.

10. After ladling into cups, garnish with the remainder of the ground nutmeg.

A female Finnish Spitz only a month old, my dad decided to name her Girly since she looked so girlish sans the need for acne treatments in future (LOL).

Now 3 years later, Girly is like the best thing that ever happened to my family.

I know, I know..it’s too early, but I love Christmas! I just love the idea of having an early Christmas deco in my own blog! So here it is, ladies & gentlemen – whether you like it or not, I have put up my Christmas deco. :-P

Didn’t took me the whole day to work on it – so there was no need for sleeping pills to keep me awake.

It’s her birthday today so here’s a card (since I didn’t have the time to go out and buy a traditional birthday card…):

Sorry lar Dym ar.. it’s a recycled birthday card I made for you 2 years ago. :-P You know how busy I am these days, right? Coming back late at night for 5 consecutive days, overworked, exhausted blablabla.. that I wanted to make use of my weekend with sleep, sleep, sleep and more sleep. But in a way, it’s good to recycle, you know? Saves energy. Hijau.

We’ll probably have a small family dinner tomorrow – let’s see what our big brother have in mind. If not, I might buy you a bottle of tan lotion since you walk under the sun everyday to your work place. :-P

Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY dearest sister. May God bless you with all the good things in life ALWAYS.

My body however, is giving it’s way to the old age. I couldn’t bend and rest my head on my thigh anymore. Sometimes my back would hurt involuntarily. Unwanted fats popping up at obvious places – the tummy, under the chin, arms, thighs etc. An attempt to lose weight by going for a jog resulted in you throwing up like you’ve had a bad food-poisoning case.

But it’s ok. I don’t mind getting older. I have all the love and support from my loved ones. My fiancé would carry me when I couldn’t cross the river. My parents would keep telling me how beautiful a daughter I am. My sister would tell me how lucky she is to have me as her sibling. And my brother.. oh.. have I told you that he’s treating me to dinner tonight? I’m thinking Nandos. Or maybe I can get him to buy me some wooden swing sets. I’ve always wanted a swing for myself since I was a kid.

Maybe being 30-something is not bad after all.

Some of the things are still unpacked, especially those of my fiancé’s. He’s still in the resting mode after a week of sleepless night (one can barely sleep during Gawai!) so maybe it’ll take him (or me) a while to finish unpacking everything.

I’m 3 tones darker now, thanks to the boat trip. Ha! Ha! But it was fun! The only thing I need to concentrate right now is how to lose that extra weight I’ve gained in 1 week! I definitely need some best weight loss product love!

OK lah, will blog about the trip later. Right now, I have a pile of laundry waiting to be cleaned and a hungry tummy to feed.

Don’t ask me why the break was really short, coz it’ll only add salt to injury. BUT the good news is, I’m back with a ring on my finger.

BUNNY AND I JUST GOT ENGAGED!!!

Pardon me for the letter “D”. The cake went through a long journey to reach home and thanks to the bumpy road that leads to my kampung, it loses it’s grip on the cake. lol. But of course, we managed to fix it before the cake was presented to the gawking people who came for the engagement – I’m not really sure what they were gawking for. Is it the Superman & Supergirl outfit my fiance and I were wearing OR were they admiring the beautiful cake? For sure, nobody was thinking about instant term life insurance quotes at all. :-P

By the way, I designed the cake outlook and Deana made it into a reality – and a very good one too! And did I mentioned how YUMMY the cake was?! Everyone complained they couldn’t get enough of it – tapi cukuplah dapat sekeping kan? I also wanna save some cake for myself mah. Ha ha ha! (figurine on the cake was made by me and my brother. He made the male version – of Bunny and his Sapetar – and I made the awfully fat-looking female figurine)

OK, gotta make a move. Going out to celebrate New Year’s eve with my bestfriend, Tess and her partner tonight. And of course, my fiance will be joining us too!

Ahhh… it’s so weird calling him fiance now.. hihihihi!
