This would be my first headache since the coming of the year 2012. Gah, how I hate this! I HAVE to blame it on the hot weather of the city. And no, putting on a ray ban or Gucci shades wouldn’t help either. OH well, I guess the grass is greener on this side but the weather is not too friendly. At least to me. Particularly my head.

Anyway. I was called by this huge, international makeup company for an interview today. The interview went ok. The salary offer was great. They even offered a meal allowance, makeup allowance, overtime allowance, sales commission.. and I heard that there’s also shoes allowance! Ha ha.. mana mau cari tuh? BUT the only con is: the working hours! Gahhhh.. why must there be a con. Can’t they just give me pros without the cons? :-( AND.. I will have to work on weekends. So sad. Anyway, I’m gonna give it a thought before deciding anything.

On the other hand, I’ve been actively brushing up my designing skills once again. I managed to design a new logo for a client before Christmas and this was what I did:

Just a simple black & white logo as per requested by the client. And we have another happy client! :-D

How do you like this business card?

It’s a card I designed for my fiancé at our new business place. It’s a bar, supposedly an Irish bar, but now we’re putting in some Borneo elements into it where we have nightly Poco-Poco and Sumazau dance activity.. and probably Ngajat too!

So that means, in the meantime, I’ll be having two jobs right now: Freelance Graphic Designer by day, buruh kasar at the bar by night. LOL. Coming up next, I’ll probably jump into the business card printing business as well. :-P

Wedding cards for the soon to be bride and bridegroom.

I’ve actually submitted the sample to another website that offers services and infos about anything related to weddings – They provide info for services such as bridal makeup, photography, food catering, flowers etc. Which got me into thinking of getting help from a business website builder company to help me build an official business website for my freelance works. That would be an awesome idea, ya?

A professional-built business website could probably bring in more customers to my sites, since I do not have the expertise of building a website, especially those with flashy flash thingy. I’m no pro coder and builder, I’m just a graphic designer. :-P To achieve a great looking website, I’m gonna need people who actually eat and sleep building websites – like them guys at web-deva.com. :-)

Well hmmm.. this should go into my consideration box.

I was pretty excited last week when I was assigned to a little project – to design a company logo. The logo is for a new company who runs an Irish bar. So there I was, scouring the Internet for some ideas and inspiration when it hit me, “Why not use an old beer mug as the main logo?”.

And so the birth of a new logo has been created in my lil olde notebook:

Of course, I came up with the logo and also the name. I named the company! *hee*

So anyone interested to hire me as a freelance graphic designer for their company? I’ll be needing those extra $$ to buy me new bath vanity and so on. :-P
